Vassar

 

Vassar’s state championship team only won one event, the 4×100 relay of Madison Harper, Troy Hecht,
Justin Locklear and Keif Vickers in a smoking fast time of 43:25.

Vassar also has one of the more unique mascot names – the Vulcans.

Vassar is also known as Cork Pine City. It had a large cork pine forest (I’m not sure what a cork pine tree is).

Vassar was settled in 1849 and was the first Tuscola County seat. Vassar also had the first newspaper, the first house of worship, the first schools in the county.
