Three Rivers

As far as I can tell, this is the only team state championship I could find, but boy what a season and what a championship game it was.

The WIldcats defeated DeWitt 24-6, led by a punishing run game that totaled 280 yards on 52 carries – they only threw 4 times all game.

The defense also stopped DeWitt’s running game, holding them to 5 yards total and intercepting DeWitt QBs 5 times.

And in case you were wondering, Three Rivers really does have three rivers. The St. Joseph, Portage and Rocky rivers all meet near the center of town. The location made the area a natural spot for trade and transportation and helped lead to the city’s founding.
