Marlette

Two of our closest friends had some property near Ubly that we called Camp Camo. We went there every Labor Day and camped and rode 4 wheelers and dirt bikes. We shot BB guns and later shotguns. Our kids learned to drive up there on the dirt roads. It was great.

And every Labor Day when we’d head back home we would stop in Marlette and go to Moore Ice Cream. (Their big sign said “Eat Moore Ice Cream”)

The store has since changed hands and now is called “Luv More Ice Cream.”

It was a tradition that our kids would never let us forget. 

The Cross Country team from 2012 was ranked #1 for most of the season and narrowly lost the state title to Jackson Lumen Christi – a team they had defeated twice during the season.

The team GPA is pretty cool. I was looking to see how that GPA impacted the play on the court but couldn’t find much. I did see something where they were 7-5 in conference play in the Greater Thumb Conference-East.
