Ferndale

Fashionable Ferndale. I’m not exactly sure why it’s called that or if it’s still called that but that’s what I think of when I hear Ferndale.

I took this picture on the way to meet my son for breakfast. He’s a football coach and when he was in junior high we started a tradition of getting breakfast on game day mornings. Except for the 4 years he played in college for the Wheaton Thunder we’ve kept up the tradition pretty well.

Ferndale has a number of really good restaurants and art galleries and stuff like that.

I like how the sign has a greeting. A lot of them say “Welcome to…” but I think this is the only one that I’ve seen that actually says “Hello.” Nice touch.

I’m not sure when the Eagles won the state band championship but a quick look at their high school web site shows a lot of accolades for the Fine Arts Department.
