Evart

 

So the dulcimer is some kind of musical string instrument with a sounding board or box, typically trapezoidal in shape.

Different length strings are stretched over it and it is played by striking it with handheld hammers.

And people gather in Evart every year (except 2020 and 2021) to watch shows, attend workshops and just jam with other players.

Evart is also home to a very special place called Springhill. It’s a Christian based camp for kids and adults (my wife helped plan a women’s retreat that went there for years).

There are a ton of fun activities like zip lines, horseback riding, paintball, swimming, music and teaching and more.

I went a few years with my son’s small group and had a great time.

My daughter worked there as a counselor after her freshman year in college.
