Kinde

The North Huron High School Indians, from Kinde, have been regular participants in the 8 man football playoffs.

In 2013 they made it to the final 4 before falling to Rapid River.

Their biggest nemesis, however, has been the Portland St. Patrick Shamrocks. Portland St. Patrick has prevented North Huron from playing for the title in 2017 and 2020 and again knocked them out of the playoffs in 2019. 

If you’ve never seen an 8 man football game it’s pretty exciting – lots of scoring. The Michigan High School Athletic Association started 8 man football in 2009 and has had to add a second division based on popularity.

It’s great to see smaller enrollment schools have another option to play.
