Union City

Lots of good stuff in here.

First kudos to the Chargers of Union City. They are right on the cusp of winning that elusive first title as evidenced by all of the these close but no cigar signs. (Not to take anything away from the accomplishments of the teams).

And Lee Bartlett was a Union City Legend, earning 9 letters in three sports.

Interestingly enough, he didn’t even pick up a javelin until he got to Albion College.

My favorite part about this  is that the signs honoring Bartlett are fairly new. Five of them were installed around Union City in 2022 after a local sports editor noticed that nearby Homer had signs honoring its Olympian and thought Union City should do the same. But they did something Homer did not do – they added the all important words “Home of.”
