Perry

The first time I was ever aware of a city named Perry was back in the early 2000s.

I was officiating a flag football tournament at our church called the Turkey Bowl.

There were a few small fields on the church grounds. The problem was that part of the grounds would flood very easily.

By the end of the night it was a muddy mess. There was next to no paint remaining that showed the boundaries. Kids were covered in mud. It was getting late and getting cold.

The games were pretty intense for a high school youth group outing. I kicked a couple of kids out for playing tackle instead of flag.

So we get to the finals and one of the teams was from Perry!

They fought hard but fell just short.
