2002 was a good year to be part of the Yale High School Track team.

Two teams, two state titles.

The boys won the title by one point over Battle Creek Pennfield without an individual champion (but they had 3 second place finishes).

The girls won the title by 2.25 points over Hanover-Horton and had two individual champs – the 1600 Relay team of Beth Vinckier, Heather Rejc, Taryne Kavanagh and Courtney Kersten.

Courtney Kersten also won the 300 Hurdles in 45.38 (which was a L.P. Division 3 Final Meet Record).

Yale also is known for their bologna and every year they have….you guessed it…a Bologna Festival during the last weekend in July.
