We have some good friends that have a place in Port Austin (great city, but no sign…yet). Fortunately, our friends are very generous and invite us up there regularly.
We frequently drive through Port Hope and were very pleasantly surprised to see this new sign!
Joey Woodke plays on the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team. The former United States Marine Corporal was on a patrol in Afghanistan when he stepped on an IED and lost both of his legs.
He moved to Nashville where he and a few other Marines heard about sled hockey and started to play.
Joey has since gone on to win a World Championship in 2021 along with the gold medal in 2022.
Thank you for your service Cpl. Woodke!
I was glad to hear about Joey and that Port Hope honored him. Because they have an official sign I can add the unofficial sign about the Leroy Burger. It’s an 18 oz. behemoth that gets really high reviews.
