Hartford

 

Sometimes you see a sign or signs from a distance and things look promising.

Such was the case here as we pulled into Hartford.

But just because there are a lot of signs it doesn’t always mean there will be a “Home Of” in them (I’m talking about you Colon)

But Hartford you did not disappoint….4 Home Of signs!!!!

Nothing against the sports championships – I think they’re very impressive – but I’m a fan of the more unusual accomplishments.

So I was drawn to the Winterguard State Championship in 2004.

To my knowledge this is the only sign that talks about being a Winterguard (or Color Guard) titleist. In fact, I had no idea at all what a Winterguard competition was all about.

And after a few Internet searches, I still am not 100% sure.

It is similar to the Color Guard, and if they have a great band (see top sign) it’s not surprising that they have a great Color Guard as well.
