Dowagiac is also the home of Southwestern Michigan College.
My nephew Garrett attended there for a while.
They have pretty nice on campus housing.
Dowagiac became famous in 1964 when reports started surfacing of the Dewey Lake Monster – a 10 foot tall, hairy beast that lives near the city.
There is a Facebook page and Website dedicated to the Monster
