This is one of my favorite signs of all time.
Apparently back in the day cat owners used sand and ashes for cats to do their business inside. Legend has it that one of Mr. Lowe’s neighbors didn’t have any sand so he gave her some clay-like stuff called Fuller’s Earth that worked remarkably well as it was very absorbent.
There was some initial push back but as people saw how well it worked, business took off.
At one point Edward Lowe’s company was worth over half a billion dollars!

Cassopolis is also the home of former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer, NBA player Kevin Loder and, of course, the 1991 Class C Boys Track and Field Champions.
