Of all the signs I’ve seen, I think the Automation Alley is my least favorite.

There are a lot of things that Troy could be the home of and this is the one that makes the sign. Automation Alley is fine, but it doesn’t seem like a bragging point. And Automation Alley signs are up in other areas of Metro Detroit.

Some fun things about Troy – it is the second largest one-syllable city in the state. Can you guess the largest? (scroll to the bottom of the page to see).

In 2011, Troy was ranked the safest city in Michigan, as well as the 19th safest city in the nation.

Steven Yeun, who played Glenn in the Walking Dead, graduated from Troy.

Troy has 2 high schools, Troy High and Athens.

Troy has won state championships in:
Boys Soccer (2003)
Football (1994)
Girls Tennis (2003)
Girls Soccer (2003, 2013)

And Athens as you can see from this more recently added picture won a soccer title in 2019.
