Milan

Boy do I love those old state championships and Milan has one.

The sign says they were boys State Champs in basketball in 1918 but the MHSAA online records only go back to 1925 so I couldn’t find official results.

There were lots of Google results for the Milan 1954 team from Indiana. (You may remember a movie made about their team called Hoosiers…)

There are records of the teams victory in 1948, where they defeated Saginaw SS Peter and Paul 45-42.

A player from that team, Harlan Benjamin,  was able to spark the 2014 team. Here’s a great story from MLive about Benjamin and the 2014 Champs.
