Grass Lake

Grass Lake has seen their fair share of state championships, especially in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

I went to the MHSAA site and started digging around in the archives and something caught my eye.

In the early to mid 1970s Grass Lake had a young man, Jim Herendeen, that won the individual state championship in the pole vault in:
1973 (12′ 7″)
1974 (13′ 3″)
1975 (13′ 9″)
1976 (13′ 6″)

4 years in a row!

Jim was rightfully inducted into the Grass Lake Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
