If you ever go to Brooklyn, which I highly recommend, you’ll see something huge looming in the background of the quaint little city (Population 1,211 in 2019).

Michigan International Speedway sits there with its 2 mile oval track on 1400 acres and 9000 campsites and seating for up to 137,000 fans.

I went to a race there many many years ago (we watched the Craftsman Truck series race to give you an idea how long ago that was) and had a great time.

The golf sign is a little unique. Brooklyn Columbia Central High School did not win the state championship, but Alissa Fish won individual titles as a junior and a senior. During the second day of her senior year she fought off hail, delays, 40+ mph winds and 42 degree temperatures.

Alissa accepted a scholarship to continue her career at Western Michigan.
