At first glance this is a great sign. Small town team wins state title. They beat Kalamazoo Christian 57-48.

A few years later they made it back to the championship game falling to Schoolcraft.

But what you don’t see on this sign is ANOTHER title…for a different team in a town with a population of about 600 people.

McBain Northern Michigan Christian was the Undefeated Class D State Champion in 1987, defeating Gaylord St. Mary 56-46.

The Comets have a title, but not a sign.
